Boy River Hydrological Study Update Meeting August 28, 7:00 P.M.

Dave Enblom, Cass County Engineer, has invited all who are interested to attend an informational meeting on the progress of the DNR's hydrological study of the upper Boy River.

Date:  Wednesday, August 28, 2002
Time: 7:00 P.M.
Place: Hackensack Senior Center

Under an agreement reached last summer, this past year the DNR has been studying the water flow from Ten Mile through the Boy River to Birch Lake and on out through the Birch Lake outlet structure.  The purpose of the study is to determine the impact of water flow through river and, particularly, the operation of the Birch Lake outlet structure on Ten Mile water levels.  At the meeting on the 28th, Mr. Enblom will introduce Kirk English, Regional Hydrologist in Bemidji, and Dave Ford, Surface Waters Engineer in the DNR's state office in St. Paul.  Mr. Ford will bring attendees up to date on the progress and discoveries of the study so far.  He and Mr. English will answer questions and welcome concerns and suggestions from attendees.

If you are concerned about the long-term impacts of high water levels on Ten Mile, this meeting will interest you. Please mark your calendar, and plan to come.
